Soothing (Long version)

1. The Impression

Water flowing from a channel

among rocks

of lava

in the surf

on the bay

at Kona.

2. The Wide-view

A yellow cloud of Tangs

surges and falls

with the swells.

I write a word or two

and pause to take a sip.

From the water glass

to the page

a droplet drips.

I see the words grow cloudy

but that’s okay

anyway

I write them down again

on the same page.

A spray of salt

sprinkles

the dove

and the sparrow

and I.

3. The Setting

Voices

Music

somewhere nearby.

Cecilia

is efficient

and kind

she refills my glass

we take our time;

the dove,

the sparrow,

and I.

Scattered

Sometimes I share little things like this, not to complain, but to share common experience, and in so doing to help others  with the burdens and frustrations  that we may face.

Scattered

Mind is wandering

here and there

lost focus

in some moment

somewhere.

I was going.

Was I going!

I am still going

hither and thither

willy-nilly

nowhere.

I don’t have

what I want to be showing

for the time

and the effort.

Does my vexation

stop it from flowing?

Oh so frustrating,

so mind-under mattered

to be brimming with energy

and frantically scattered.

Hello Rabbit

It’s a little bit

like falling off a log.

It’s a little bit

like I’m not here

at all.

It’s a little bit

confusing

in my mind

at least

I think it is

some of the

time.

It’s a little bit

like being lost

in thought

of dreaming,

dreaming

epic thoughts

so lucid

I must be awake.

Awake.

Away

they go…

It’s a little bit

like what I started out

to say

before we went away

chasing

down rabbit holes.

Our Belligerent Personas

We keep dancing with

our belligerent personas

as if

they’re a separate entity;

one we can choose

to be

or not to be

based on our need.

Oh no,

not we.

But when we bite the head

off of someone else

it leaves a dreadful trace

and what it does in the mouth

is nothing to what it does

in the heart.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

There’s a drop of blood

no one ever sees;

it is pooling now.

Whose can it be?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

We keep dancing with

our belligerent personas

as if

we can just skate free.

Oh no,

not we.

Words of Help and Healing: Pass Them On

You may be struggling right now. You may be riding on the crest of a wave. Most of us have been in both places, and it is likely that many of us spend much of our lives somewhere in between. Whatever our situation, however high or low, sad or joyous; words have a great impact on our lives.

Conveying words of help, encouragement, beauty and healing is a passion here at Listen View Review. We love to pass them on to you, the reader, and hope that you will find some benefit from them, and that you too will pass them on.

Here are samples of some of the works that have been favorites of our readers, and have been shared the most. These excerpts have been set against beautiful photographs found on Pinterest.

Excerpt from Empty Pages: Little trials in a word full of suffering.
A simple, short piece with no title.
An excerpt from one of the longer works: Good Word (A Word of Encouragement)
An excerpt from Clever Words, all about being free from the desire to use words to hurt others.

You can read the full version of these works, plus many others, in the collection Good Words and Sunbursts: Vivid Word Art and Lyric Beauty, available through Amazon right here: http://amazon.com/author/morrisrk. Available in paperback and kindle edition.

Here is what one reader from the U.K. had to say about Good Words and Sunbursts: “A breath of fresh air – uplifting words and meaningful prose from a very talented author who has the ability to draw you into every word. I’ve read the book four times now and still get something new to uplift me each time.”

Order a copy for yourself, and several to pass along. Helpful, beautiful words are always worth reading and sharing.
